User Commenting on Nodes

The e-Branch software has the ability to allow your users to post anonymous comments about your blog posts. While this interaction is highly encouraged by the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICFL), this feature is turned off by default on all new e-Branch sites. With the sheer amount of comment spam (this can include advertisements, nonsensical gibberish, and even inappropriate content) that open commenting systems can generate, we require each e-Branch participant to contact either Eric Hildreth or Michael Samuelson at the ICFL so we can discuss what is involved in managing user generated comments.

Under no circumstances will open posting (where comments are automatically posted to the site after the user submits them) be allowed. Rather, any new post will go into an approval queue that requires you to look over each and every post and publish or delete them as necessary. Please refer to our Managing Comments Page for further details on this process.
